Born March 25th, 1985 in Edmonton, Canada, Carmen was blessed with a God-given gift of performing.  An accomplished musician, Carmen has performed in public since the age of five.
Carmen is a prolific song writer, composing both music and lyrics which highlight her very unique voice.  At the age of seventeen, Carmen achieved instant fame and notoriety when she became a finalist on Fox's 2003 "American Idol".
After the "American Idol" season she has been in constant demand.  In the summer of 2003, she toured the country with the other finalists, performing in over fifty concerts.
Carmen has appeared in a recent movie remake of "Pride and Prejudice", where she made a cameo appearance.  Carmen anchors the soundtrack to the film with her single, "Be With You".  Carmen was recently invited by Fox network producers to move to Hollywood and pursue an acting career.  Although she loves acting, Carmen has her heart set on a music career.
Nothin' Like the Summer is the debut album of country singer Carmen Rasmusen and it will be released on August 28, 2007 (see 2007 in country music). The album was produced by Jason Deere (Brazilian famous singer Wanessa Camargo) and released by Lofton Creek Records.
